I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.
You should be like Paul and pray in tongues more than everybody. The Spirit of God is mentioned throughout the Bible, yet in the Book of Acts, people were continually baptized in the Holy Spirit. The initial evidence of the Spirit of God coming upon them was speaking in tongues. It's important to note that they weren't told that you would speak in tongues; it just happened, which is a real sign and a wonder. They weren't coached.
In Acts 19:1-7, Paul asked people if they received the Holy Spirit, and they replied that they did not even know that there was a Holy Spirit to receive. They only received the baptism of John for repentance; in other words, they were born again, but they had not been baptized in the Holy Spirit. At that time, when Paul laid hands on them, they received the baptism of the Holy that day with the evidence of speaking in tongues. This is a very controversial subject, and it shouldn't be. I believe that the enemy does not want us to speak in tongues. He doesn't want us to let the Holy Spirit have His way.
You need the Holy Spirit to light your path and clear your path ahead of you, so pray in the Spirit as often as you can. You need the Holy Spirit to show you a "movie" of your future, a vision of what he has for you as He has done for me.
ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO WORK THROUGH YOU
• As a nation, America has often been robbed of what God wanted for us because we have rejected Him. This has happened in nations around the world.
• When a nation rejects God, He goes to believers within a nation to bring His will to pass, which is why we have Warrior Notes.
• We gather in groups, such as Warrior Fellowships, which meet worldwide, and believe God will do something supernatural in our countries.
• We must believe God will have His way within our fellowships and individual lives.
• Know that God loves you and desires to have His way with your life.
• We should not focus on the evil taking place in our countries; we
must focus on what God is doing in our own lives.
• It's crucial that we build each other up and show love for each other.
TONGUES FOR A CONGREGATION VERSUS PERSONAL TONGUES
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God Who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
—1 Corinthians 12:4-11
If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. —1 Corinthians 14:27-28
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. —1 Corinthians 14:4
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. —1 Corinthians 14:15
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
—Jude 1:20
The Scriptures clearly explain that when we pray in tongues, we are not speaking to people but to God. It is also plainly expressed that in the church, one of the gifts of the Spirit is tongues, and another is interpretation. So you have the type of tongues that is a gift for the congregation of believers, which requires interpretation; then you also have tongues for prayer and personal edification, which does not require interpretation.
When you speak in tongues in a congregation, someone with the gift of interpretation must interpret the tongues to the known language, which would be English, where we are. Interpretation is necessary to tell the body of believers what God is saying. He speaks to us through the gifts of the Spirit, which he gives to individuals as He wills, so not everyone has these particular gifts.
On the other hand, in private or times when a group agrees to pray together to God, we all can and should pray in the Spirit, in tongues, so that God can have his way, as you can see in 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 15, Jude 1:20 and throughout the Book of Acts.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You so much for Your power. Thank You for all my family all over the world. Thank You for the love that You have for people. Let everyone feel Your love right now. Let the Holy Spirit have His way. Baptize them in power and the fire. In Jesus' name, amen.
1. 1 Corinthians 14:2 states that when we pray in tongues, we are not speaking to people but to God. Paul said he prayed in tongues more than everyone.
How does being baptized in the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues empower us to be a witness?
2. Romans 8:26-27 explains that Holy Spirit knows the will of God and prays it through us with another language or groanings. Discuss how praying in the Spirit connects us to the heart of God beyond our natural language and lights our path.
3. Why is speaking in tongues so controversial in the body of Christ? Throughout the Book of Acts, people were baptized in the Holy Spirit. How is this understanding relevant to us today?
4. Discuss how you can allow God to have His way as an individual or group of
believers, even when your nation rejects God.
5. Discuss the difference between speaking in tongues to a congregation and privately praying in tongues.
